Week 5 1. If an adult is buying a Playstation even as gift, that adult is the customer. Whether or not they intend to give it away, that adult is making the conscientious decision if the Playstation is worth buying. Playstation was able to target the adult enough to come in and purchase it. 2. Complex sneakers posted two social media ads featuring pop culture icons and trend setters Busta Rhymes, Rae Sremmurd, and Dj khalid. Complex is targeting the younger generation and street wear fans, showing their influencers rave about the expensive shoes they had just purchased to draw more attention. Complex brought humor into the situation, also not presenting them as true “advertisements”, but rather showing the influencers in a home video type of scenario making it more relatable. The consumers of these product’s likely younger men and women who listen to their music. Week 4 ⇽ 1)    2)    3.1) The industries that are the least competitive according to the table are the cereal and laundry detergent industries. The significantly larger HHI shows that those industries are on the monopoly end of the spectrum.   3 .2) The restaurant and the movie studios have greater advertising expenditures since they’re in smaller markets and need to advertise their products more. Since there is less competition in the cereal and detergent industries advertisement is less important, because there aren’t as many choices. 4) I had a difficult time finding accurate supported data for the calculations.  5) This analysis was to be expected consider Apple, Samsung, and Microsoft of three of the biggest organizations in their industry. It was a little surprising seeing Microsoft ahead of Apple, but close across the board. 6) Was unable to get the Claritas page to work.

Week 3 Discussion  1. Please refer to Slide 6 for this question. How do you like this Super Bowl commercial launched by Google? Which element (s) does Google cover in this campaign? Can't afford a $4 million Super Bowl Ad? What are some alternative ways or solutions for small brands to educate their consumers?               I believe Google made an outstanding ad. Instead of just showing off the product their selling, they decided to really make it an experience and draw you into the commercial and feel at home. With a product that can help and excite so many consumers on daily basis no matter where you live or what you’re into. Appealing to the masses and educating millions of viewers on their product, especially on a plate form like the Superbowl is a recipe for success. If I were a smaller company who didn’t have the means to pay for Superbowl commercials, I would put my focus on “key words” to help my pro...
