WEEK 4
Week 4 ⇽
1)
2)
3.1) The industries that are the
least competitive according to the table are the cereal and laundry detergent industries.
The significantly larger HHI shows that those industries are on the monopoly
end of the spectrum.
3.2) The restaurant and the movie
studios have greater advertising expenditures since they’re in smaller markets and
need to advertise their products more. Since there is less competition in the
cereal and detergent industries advertisement is less important, because there aren’t
as many choices.
4) I had a difficult time finding accurate
supported data for the calculations.
5)
This analysis was to be expected consider Apple, Samsung, and Microsoft of three of the biggest organizations in their industry. It was a little surprising seeing Microsoft ahead of Apple, but close across the board.
6) Was unable to get the Claritas
page to work.
